Carrie DeJong (MC)

Carrie is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) in British Columbia. She holds a Master's degree in Counselling (MC) and has over 25 years of experience in trauma treatment programs, residential addiction treatment, and private practice. She holds a Certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies through the Trauma Research Foundation, a training and research institute founded and chaired by Dr. Bessel van der Kolk.

Carrie is a consultant and speaker. She also writes many articles about trauma and addiction, including her eBook, "Trauma and Addiction: The Link We Can't Ignore". Her expertise in trauma and addiction has helped her develop the Vortex Model of Addiction, a model based on neurophysiology that provides a foundation for understanding addiction's complex behavioural and emotional patterns.

She is an avid learner of neurobiology, body-centred approaches to therapy, Polyvagal theory, and attachment theory. She offers her clients insight into how their nervous system is wired and helps them make sense of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. She aims to provide an environment offering tools, support, and hope for clients to move forward into increased health and wellness.

Tara Hall (MA)

Tara is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with BCACC. She holds a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology as well as a Certificate in Substance Abuse Counselling. Tara has worked for over 10 years in a variety of counselling settings.

Tara has training in treating trauma, behavioural and substance addictions, depression and anxiety, relationship restoration and intimacy. Tara’s approach to therapy is practical, helping you to achieve your goals. She is engaging and very supportive creating a safe, compassionate, non-judgmental space.

Some of the therapeutic practices she is influenced by are: cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, narrative therapy, self-regulation therapy and mindfulness based interventions.

Monika Ulrich (MA)

Monika is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with BCACC. She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology as well as a Certificate in Substance Abuse Counselling. She has almost 20 years of professional experience in a variety of counselling settings.

Monika’s goal is to support clients to connect with their bodies in comfortable ways. She utilizes techniques including breath, grounding and other mind-body tools. She helps clients recognize how physical sensations are linked to feelings and reactions to the world around them. Monika has experience supporting people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma symptoms, grief and loss, stress, and the use of alcohol and substances.

Some of the therapeutic practices she is influenced by are: solution focused therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy, somatic tools including self-regulation therapy, emotion focused, and mindfulness. She strives to understand each individual and their unique process – she uses that to support her clients in meaningful change.
